A ring-toss booth owner in Henan, China, offered a Maserati worth 1.7 million yuan (approximately 1 million MYR) as a prize. A man from Shandong traveled specifically for the challenge, spending 2,000 yuan (about 1,300 MYR) to win a one-year usage of the car.
According to Jiangsu Broadcasting Corporation's Litchi News, the man, a resident of Binzhou, Shandong, drove 600 kilometers to Shangqiu, Henan. After nearly three hours of playing, he successfully won the car’s one-year usage and is currently completing the handover process.
Besides the Maserati, the booth also offered livestock such as cattle and sheep as prizes.
Henan Broadcasting Corporation's Elephant News reported that a professional ring-toss player had previously spent 8,500 yuan (around 5,500 MYR) trying to win the Maserati. However, after ten hours of attempts, he failed and even strained his arm.
The player remarked, “It feels like even a deity would have to spend at least 200 yuan (about 130 MYR) and leave in frustration. Once my arm recovers, I’ll be back to try again.”
Industry insiders revealed that such luxury car prizes have appeared since last year. While primarily a promotional gimmick, the challenge is legitimate—if you win, you can drive the car away.
