Former Prime Minister Abdullah Badawi Passes Away at 86
Kuala Lumpur, April 14 – Malaysia’s fifth Prime Minister, Tun Abdullah Ahmad Badawi, has passed away at the age of 86. He died at 7:10 p.m. this evening at the National Heart Institute (IJN).
The news was confirmed by his son-in-law and former Health Minister, Khairy Jamaluddin, through an Instagram story.
Following reports of his passing, a large number of journalists gathered outside the National Heart Institute to await official updates.
Media crews were seen setting up cameras outside the IJN in anticipation of prominent figures arriving. In response, the institute arranged a designated area for a press conference and facilitated the media’s entry into the venue for official announcements.
