The ceremony took place at the FRU 5th Battalion Base in Sungai Senam, Ipoh, and was conducted with full official honors by the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM).

At 3:13 a.m., the coffins, each draped with the Malaysian national flag, arrived from the Hilir Perak District Police Headquarters. The ceremony officially began at 3:46 a.m., with the fallen officers honored according to the PDRM’s protocol for those who die in the line of duty.

The bodies of the seven Muslim officers were later brought to the Al-Mustakim prayer hall for religious rites, led by religious officer Azrul Zaimi Mohd Ali.

Earlier, the remains had been moved from the Teluk Intan Hospital Forensics Department at 12:33 a.m. and a preliminary prayer session was held at the Hilir Perak police prayer room.

More than 500 people, including grieving family members and fellow officers, attended the ceremony, creating a deeply emotional and respectful atmosphere.

Deputy Inspector-General of Police, Datuk Seri Ayob Khan, and Perak Police Chief, Datuk Mohd Yusri Hassan Basri, were also present to pay their respects.

After the ceremony, the families were given time for a final farewell before the coffins were transported to the officers’ respective hometowns for burial.

The tragic incident occurred around 8:50 a.m. on Tuesday (13th), when the officers, having completed an assignment in Teluk Intan, were en route back to Ipoh. Their vehicle was struck by a lorry carrying sand, resulting in the deaths of eight officers on the spot. One more succumbed to his injuries at Teluk Intan Hospital.
