Kuala Lumpur, April 8 – What began as a spontaneous decision turned out to be a life-changing moment for a 25-year-old man, who won RM100,000 in the Big Sweep lottery.
Mr. Yap, the lucky winner, was dining at a restaurant in Johor Bahru when he unexpectedly came across a Big Sweep ticket seller. Acting on impulse, he decided to purchase 10 tickets.
He admitted that he never expected to win, as he bought the tickets mainly to support a charitable cause. But when he later checked the results for Draw 14/24 using the Big Sweep Loyalty App, he was stunned to see he had won the RM100,000 cash prize.
Although Mr. Yap has yet to finalize how he will use the money, he hinted at plans to invest wisely and provide support for his family.
As of 2023, Pan Malaysian Sweeps has contributed over RM60 million in surplus funds to the Yuh Chai Foundation, focusing on nurturing talent through educational initiatives.
