Kim Seri Faces Fraud Allegations After Canceling RM4,000 Seoul Tour Package

KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 18 – Local influencer and entrepreneur Kim Seri has been accused of fraud after abruptly canceling a RM4,000 Seoul tour package. The sudden cancellation, announced via social media, has sparked outrage among her customers, leading 10 individuals to file police reports at the Dang Wangi Police Station.

Allegations of Fraud

According to the disgruntled customers, Kim Seri had collected payments for a 5-day South Korea travel package scheduled for departure on Dec 22. However, she unexpectedly announced the trip’s cancellation last week without providing a clear reason.

Feeling deceived, the affected customers collectively filed complaints, urging the authorities to investigate the matter. The package, marketed as a premium tour experience, had attracted significant interest before the abrupt announcement.

Police Confirm Reports

Dang Wangi District Police Chief, ACP Noor Dellhan Yahaya, confirmed that the police have received five related reports as of now.

Kim Seri’s Apology

In response to the allegations, Kim Seri, whose real name is Sri Azizlina (39), issued a statement via Instagram Stories apologizing for the situation. She assured her customers that she takes full responsibility and promised to refund all affected individuals by Feb 1, 2025.

“I sincerely apologize and promise to handle this matter. I ask for the patience of my customers, as the refund process will take time,” she stated.

This case has sparked widespread debate about consumer rights and the accountability of influencers in promoting services.
