Malaysia: RON95 Remains at RM2.05, RON97 and Diesel Increase by 5 Sen Per Liter

The latest fuel prices for the week of January 9 to January 15, 2025, have been announced, with RON97 and diesel prices in Peninsular Malaysia increasing by 5 sen per liter. The retail prices are now set at:

  • RON97: RM3.33 per liter
  • Diesel (Peninsula): RM3.03 per liter

Meanwhile, RON95 remains unchanged at RM2.05 per liter, providing stability for consumers. For Sabah, Sarawak, and Labuan, diesel prices also remain steady at RM2.15 per liter.

The Ministry of Finance explained that the adjustments were made in response to rising global crude oil prices. However, the newly adjusted diesel price of RM3.03 per liter is still lower than the market-floating rate of RM3.35 implemented on June 10, 2024.

The government assured citizens that it will continue to monitor global oil market trends and adjust RON97 and diesel prices accordingly while supporting price stability to safeguard public welfare.

Stay tuned for updates on fuel prices and their impact on the cost of living.
