(Kuala Lumpur, 17th) Malayan Banking Berhad (Maybank, 1155, Main Board Financial Services) Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Khairiah Ismail has been dismissed due to an internal investigation.
Maybank stated that the selection process for a new Group Chief Financial Officer has commenced and is currently in progress, with the Board of Directors set to announce the new appointment in due course.
Marzuki Fadzil Appointed as Interim CFO
The bank also announced that, in the interim, Marzuki Fadzil will serve as the acting Group Chief Financial Officer starting February 17. He is currently the CFO of Maybank Investment Bank.
Maybank reported this matter to Bursa Malaysia today, confirming that its CFO, Khairiah Ismail, officially stepped down on February 17 due to an internal investigation. However, the bank did not disclose further details regarding the matter.
According to Maybank's website, the 58-year-old Khairiah Ismail was appointed as the Group CFO on October 1, 2021. She had been with Maybank for over 30 years, holding various positions within the organization.
