MH370 Search Resumes; No Find, No Fee

Canberra, 25th – Comprehensive Report
A renewed search for the missing Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370 is set to commence around 1,500 kilometers off Australia’s west coast.

Ocean Infinity, a seabed exploration firm based in the US and UK, has secured a “no find, no fee” agreement with the Malaysian government to investigate a 15,000-square-kilometer section of the ocean near Perth, Australia. This search effort is expected to be more precise and targeted than previous ones.

MH370, a Boeing 777 aircraft traveling from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing, vanished on March 8, 2014, with 239 passengers and crew on board. On January 29, 2015, Malaysia’s Civil Aviation Department officially declared the flight lost and all onboard presumed deceased.

On December 20 last year, Malaysian Transport Minister Anthony Loke confirmed the government’s preliminary approval to restart the search. He revealed that during a Cabinet meeting on December 13, Malaysia endorsed Ocean Infinity’s plan to continue searching a designated area in the South Pacific under the “no find, no fee” arrangement. The Ministry of Transport is expected to formalize the contract with the company in early 2025.
