Perodua Axia Becomes Malaysia’s Best-Selling Car, Surpassing Bezza

Kuala Lumpur, 11th – The Perodua Axia has emerged as the most popular car in Malaysia, overtaking the Bezza in sales.

According to the latest vehicle registration statistics from the Road Transport Department (JPJ), the Axia recorded 7,096 new registrations in January, making it the highest-selling model for the month. Coming in second and third place were also Perodua models—Bezza with 5,106 units and Myvi with 4,464 units. Meanwhile, Proton’s best-selling car, the Saga, secured fourth place with 4,461 units.

Perodua dominated the top ten best-selling models, occupying five spots. In total, the brand registered 23,245 vehicles in January, significantly outperforming Proton’s 9,688 units, cementing its position as the market leader.

Historically, the Perodua Bezza has been Malaysia’s top-selling model, with over 100,000 units registered in 2024, totaling 100,814 units. The Axia followed closely behind with 88,137 registrations.

Both the Axia and Bezza are favored for their affordability compared to other models, making them a popular choice among budget-conscious consumers. In the current economic climate, buyers are prioritizing value for money, and these two models align well with their financial considerations.

Besides their competitive pricing, these cars also offer practical features and reliable performance. Their fuel efficiency further enhances their appeal by helping owners reduce running costs.

As listed on Perodua’s official website, the Axia is priced between RM22,000 and RM49,500, while the Bezza’s price range is RM34,580 to RM49,980.
