After three decades in exile, three sons of Thai King Vajiralongkorn—Vacharaesorn, Juthavachara, and Vacharawee—have made a highly publicized return to Thailand, sparking nationwide attention and speculation about the royal family's dynamics.
The trio arrived at Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi Airport, with Vacharaesorn sharing their return on social media with the caption, "Home at last!" Since then, they have been actively exploring Thailand, sharing photos and videos of visits to iconic sites such as the Lak Muang Shrine, Wat Bowonniwet Vihara, and Wat Arun (Temple of Dawn). They’ve also been seen enjoying local delicacies at Bangkok eateries, offering a glimpse into their life back in their homeland.
Born to King Vajiralongkorn and his second wife, actress Sujarinee Vivacharawongse, the three sons were exiled alongside their mother and a younger brother following the dissolution of the marriage over 30 years ago. The eldest, Juthavachara, is now an aerospace engineer; Vacharaesorn, a lawyer; and the youngest, Vacharawee, a financier. Their sister, Princess Sirivannavari, remains one of the most favored royals in the current court.
While their third brother, Chakriwat, did not join them for this reunion, their collective presence has reignited public interest in the royal family. Once branded as "exiled princes," they now engage with the Thai people through religious ceremonies, charitable activities, and local tourism.
Vacharaesorn’s increased activity in Thailand since 2023—frequent visits, public appearances, and his involvement in royal-adjacent duties—has drawn particular attention. Some speculate this could signal a shift in the royal family’s dynamics, though no official statements have been made.
The three princes’ return has sparked widespread discussion, with citizens and analysts debating its implications for the Thai monarchy. Regardless of speculation, their homecoming has brought renewed visibility and intrigue to a once-distant chapter of the royal family’s story.
