Kuala Lumpur, April 17 — In a grand gesture to welcome Chinese President Xi Jinping for his state visit to Malaysia, the iconic Petronas Twin Towers in Kuala Lumpur lit up in the colors of both the Malaysian and Chinese national flags.

Each tower showcased a different design: one illuminated in red, white, yellow, and blue to represent the Malaysian flag, while the other glowed in red and yellow, reflecting the colors of China’s national flag. The special lighting display created a striking visual tribute symbolizing the strong diplomatic ties between the two nations.

Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning shared a photo of the Twin Towers at night on Facebook, highlighting the thoughtful lighting arrangement as a warm welcome to the Chinese delegation.

President Xi’s visit marks a significant moment in Malaysia-China relations, and the customized illumination of KLCC stands as a powerful visual symbol of friendship and mutual respect between the two countries.
